Based on one of the most iconic memes of all time, Pepe the Frog by Matt Furie, Rare Pepes are tokenized assets that were created and traded in a Bitcoin art community.
The Nakamoto Card is the first Rare Pepe, available in an edition of 300 tokens, minted on Counterparty in 2016. It inspired the creation of 1,744 user-generated examples of Pepe-themed art all tokenized on Bitcoin.
